A charming little village resting on the mountain slopes which meet at the ocean offering tranquility as there are no major shopping malls, busy streets or tourist attractions in the immediate vicinity. Kommetjie(8 minutes) and Simons town (22 minutes)are close enough though for some basic shopping for essentials.
Misty Cliffs has acquired its name from it’s rather obvious Misty Cliffs overlooking the often wild but beautiful sea and is known not only for its incredible beahces with excellent weather but also at times windy and rather wet days depending on the season of course. Nothing like a holiday home overlooking the ocean while it rains and the fireplace blazes on inside keeping you toasty!
This is something of a magical little hamlet that is also a conservation village bordering on a nature reserve, a wonderful place to find peace and quiet and a spectacular setting at the best of times.
Once day visitors have left, the village of Misty Cliffs once again returns to its natural element of tranquility and serenity. In short, it is one of the few villages left in Cape Town that has managed to hang on to its original individual quality. Even Capetonians have been known to buy beachside holiday homes here, despite living half an hour away.
